A Dream

December 8, 2008

I had an interesting dream last night. My mom took me to the US for the very first time in my life. Naturally, I was excited and happy, eager to explore, but I forgot a lot of important things at home. I didn’t bring any nice clothes, I only had one pair of shoes (my brown boots), and worse, I forgot my Mac. We stayed in a place where my mom had business, some charity thing, I don’t know exactly. We were picked up by a bus in the morning and brought to a church (or is it an orphanage). I didn’t want to join her because I wanted to look around, so I asked for some money and promised to come back later.

A guy came over and gave me a lot of silver coins. When I looked at them closely, they had Chinese inscriptions on them, which I was annoyed about, because then I’d have to find a money changer so I can get dollars. I went off and found myself in a university. It was a university with a lot of trees and of course, students. I was just walking around until I reached a track and field. Some girls were running, and I tried to do the same, but my feet kept sinking in mud. I wandered around some more and found myself inexplicably lost.

I was walking dazedly in a large space with muddy soil and a lot of trees. Suddenly, a bus came around the corner and so I went in. There were children inside. I might have said something and one girl, maybe no more than five, told me something very very profound. I even wrote down what she said in a notepad so I won’t forget when I wake up.

I don’t remember what she said.
