A Word A Poop
June 26, 2008One good way to improve your writing is to keep a dictionary in the bathroom. Instead of shooting murderous looks at the wall and gasping a goodbye to your organically processed lunch, grab a dictionary and leaf through. You won’t believe how much that can help you with your overrated literary woes.
The technique is fairly simple: get a handy dictionary, something that looks friendly enough not to make you easily bored or panicked. Turn to any random page, scan, and read the definition of a word that’s unfamiliar to you. Do it again and again until you’re done with your poopy time and voila! You learned something relevant in under fifteen minutes. You’ll find it difficult to look for uknown words in your dictionary in no time.
I’ve been doing this since elementary, which is why I have an OK grasp of the English language. Try it and be transformed!
