I definitely am doing what I want to do with my life right now.

I find that despite not doing the things that make you happy and fulfilled. Whatever work that you feel you’ve done with love,determination, and whatnot deserve some pride.

It isn’t much in the sense of feeling fulfilled but in a more primal sense of accomplishing something with your own hands.

After all, you can’t tell a writer, with writing keeping him happy, that he/she has no right to be proud of raising his/her children.

i just started to pursue the thing that i love to do. i guess i can stay in this industry until my hair turns grey.

i stopped caring about what other people might say. i stopped thinking doing something lucrative.

i love myself more because i knew i made the right decision.

I meant to leave a comment when you first posted this. And you don’t know how many times I’ve asked myself that question since.

“If you aren’t, then you have nothing to be proud of.”

Although that maybe a bit harsh.

I read this Steve Jobs speech back in 2006 but it only made sense a few months ago. Tell me if it relates to your post.

when i wrote that line, i meant it in all its harshness. i believe in hollow victories, in hollow achievements. at some point you might have gotten yourself a Jaguar or a PhD but it doesn’t mean that these things are exactly what you want to give your life at least a smidgen of meaning.
