Kang-kungan

December 22, 2007

I was checking out the sinigang for lunch, poking a fork around the pot. I notice that the kang-kong is dismally outnumbered by the gabi. I become immediately cranky. Sinigang should have a lot of kang-kong, whatever happens.

Me: Ma, bakit ang konti ng kang-kong?

Mama: Walang maganda sa supermarket eh, kaya di na lang ako bumili. Kinuha ko lang yan sa kapitbahay.

Me: (pokes fork around some more) Ano ba yan, kang-kong na nga lang tinitipid mo pa kami.

Mama: Eh wala ngang magandang kang-kong na mabibili.

Me: (ignores mother) Ano tayo poor?

Mama: (loko 'to ha).

You are such an evil daughter.

benj: but you can use a kang-kong stalk as straw to sip sinigang broth! how cool is that?

incidentally, i saw you at campus last Saturday i think.

ade: ahaha, i am.

I can’t imagine a chunky sinigang.

Nevertheless this does sound a bit bitchy. I must be used to this.

Lol, your mom’s so mabait. If I do that to my mom, she’ll curse me. Then I’ll curse back. Then we would both laugh.

LAST SATURDAY?!

Yeah, we were training with people from DLSU and UPD for the Worlds. The concessionaire people still remember me! And they still remember what I usually get.

THEY ALSO TOLD ME I WAS FATTER NOW.

Screw them.

Kangkong. One of the many food items I miss the most. I’d choose kangkong over brocolli anytime, yo!

merry christmas to everyone too!

And here I thought that sinigang was supposed to have plenty of pork not kangkong… XD If I complained like that to my mom, I’d probably die of starvation right now, since I’ve no cooking skills.

I just love sinigang - pork or isda.

But when Marco is home, we can’t cook “sinabawang dishes” Ayaw niya ng mga may sabaw na pagkain.

Posted by rhodora at December 31, 2007, 12:58 am

really? ayaw niya ng sabaw? haha! that’s weird.

Posted by lizette at December 31, 2007, 10:52 am

Well, kahapon, give up na ako sa kanya, di ako nagluto. He found a way. He cooked his specialty - pancit canton - instant. hehe. He was so proud - he offered it to me and his dad. Okay lang kasi gutom din kami kaya kinain din namin. Tamad ding kumain ng prutas. If i offer him an apple, ayaw. But if I juice out the apple and make him drink, yun - gusto niya. Hay, naku!

ang hirap palang pakainin ng anak ninyo! when he’s in manila, he ALWAYS eats out and when he’s at his condo he just orders from nearby fast food restaurants. that’s why he’s getting plumper. he rarely eats vegetables or fruits. ~_~

but really, i’ve given up on trying to change any of his habits. marco’s marco, period.
