Looper

October 21, 2007

"O ayan Jan, binili na kita para di kayo mag-away ng ate mo," said my mom after rummaging through SM plastic bags and finding what she looked for.

"Yey, may looper na ako!" my younger brother said in absolute glee.

My brother is a very annoying person. He does everything I don't want him to do. He knows all my sore points in life (I failed PE as a college freshman. I lost 1000 bucks when I was eight. I lost in the 2004 RSPC. He never forgot these). He steals my candy, drains my cellphone battery playing Tomb Raider, hides my toothbrush (this just recently. It made me mad because I use a special toothbrush for my braces and I have to go a long way to get one if I lose it), eats all the hotdogs, doesn't put the water back in the fridge, plays with my curlers, uses my hair brush to fix his fair full of icky gel, smells my armpits for kicks, loses my stuff all the time, and so on. It's a long list of unholy transgressions.

The latest one is the one about my loofah. He steals it all the time. We have two bathrooms—he uses the one in the sala and I use the one in the master's bedroom. Can you imagine how much misery a misplaced loofah can cause a person when she's wet already and then she realizes that the loofah is absent? A lot. I tried to explain to him that a loofah is like a toothbrush: you don't share it, for the decent life of you. He looked at me in a dumb, non-endearing way. He didn't get it.

Well, he has his own looper now. Looper, loofah, blah. It should be cute, but he's seventeen years old and I presume that I'm allowed to laugh in a rather mean manner.

Three words: go laugh evil.

I think I’m lucky to be eighteen and the eldest. The one next to me is a sister, a year behind, whose most annoying whatever is being a camwhore. And I still see my brother as a baby.

Go laugh evil at me, sure.

you have two other siblings. i can’t laugh at you. it’s a sad thing.

i’m having tremendous difficulty dealing with my one and only sibling. i imagine it’s worse for other people with more siblings. gah.

Lolz. What an evil brother. I guess younger brothers do tend to be evil to their older siblings.

I’m an only kid so I really can’t relate. I do know that I always wanted to have an older sister. If I had one, I think I’d get on her nerves too. Now that I’m older I wish I had a kid sister who’ll annoy me and all. It’s a weird show of affection I guess. But yeah, what do I know right? I still think you folks with siblings are lucky though.

Adam: There’s a good thing with having siblings, and that is having a fallback when you eventually become alone. But you also end up independent if you’re solo.

Lizette: Fine, fine. I’m always the one who gets into fights with my siblings. It isn’t fun.

How cute :)
We’re opposite though, I’m the youngest and it’s my two brothers who do those things to me. Oh my specially kuya Aypee. He’d even use my perfume, hanky, and lip balm!!!! Not only use, he steals it!!!! While kuya marco annoys me by going to my room, and (sorry for this one, it’s really bad but it’s really annoying meeee!! farts. Yes he does that. Talk about rude. And most recently, because my parents transformed his bedroom into my mom’s office, he does not have a permanent room. So he’s forced to sleep in the couch. But he loves it there because there’s internet connection and TV. When he’s tired sleeping there, he’ll go to my room and sleep on my bed for the rest of the day. grrr.
Why are men such pigs?!

ade: very true. ilan ulit kayong magkakapatid? you do have siblings right?

peter: the grass is always greener on the other side, i guess. i for one would love to trade places with you.

niko: it’s never fun, especially when we’re all grown up. we just fill silly. in a bad way.

gem: lol, parang ewan talaga yang kapatid mo. he has farted around me. since ours is not a filial sort of love, i guess it’s easy to forgive that. :D

some men are indeed pigs. i’m sure my brother is.

Looper? Haha!

Well, history has a long line of girls and their younger brothers with dysfunctional relationships that tend to improve as they get older.

Luckily I rarely get into fights with my older sisters when we were kids; they’re almost never at home and when they are I’m either asleep or watching TV. Oh and I owe them for making me listen to New Wave growing up.
